3 ways to journal for guidance

Dear _____,

Have you ever tried to journal for guidance? I’ve been experimenting with this method for the past two months and I really like it!

Here are three quick ways you can use Guidance Journaling to tap into your sub-conscious, your un-conscious, and perhaps even the divine. It’s a beautiful experience and I hope you’ll try it.

Method #1: Use your Morning Pages

Are you a Morning Page journaler? (Morning Pages were made popular by Julia Cameron in her Artist’s Way books. You start your day with three pages of steam-of-consciousness writing where you just write down anything and everything that’s on your mind and in your heart. This helps you “clean your windshield” before starting your day.)

To add guidance journaling to your Morning Pages, you do your usual three pages of writing to clear your mind and then you write out a question that you would like to have guidance about. You could write out something like, “I officially request your guidance on this question: _______.” Then relax your hand and let the pen write by itself. Bring openness and curiosity to the experience and enjoy the anticipation of seeing the words just come out of your pen.

Method #2: Keep a special journal just for guidance Q & A

Once a day, get out a beautiful journal book that you use just for guidance Q & A. Put a date at the top of the page. Then pick a question that you would like guidance about. I have found great value in thinking about and choosing my question-of-the-day.  It shows you what’s important to you. And the wisdom and love you receive in your answers leaves you feeling supported and connected.

Method #3: Use your dreams to access your un-conscious

Keep a notebook by your bed. Before you go to sleep, write out your question and in your mind say something like, “I officially request guidance on this issue. Here’s my question: _______. I look forward to receiving the answer and I have a notebook by my bed so that I can write the answer down right away.” Some people use this method for questions like,

-        “What’s holding me back from being able to _____?”

-        “What’s the best way for me to _____?”

-        “How can I _____?”

I’d love to hear what you think of this method of journaling. Feel free to reply to this email and your note will come directly to me.

I hope you enjoy Guidance Journaling as much as I do, and I hope you get lots of wonderful answers.

Sending you quality questions and helpful answers,

Rebecca @ Journaling.com

P.S. May YOUR ducks line up all in a row. :)
