Future Sounds Malta kicks off Thursday, 50-plus DJs, four days, fewer than 100 weekend passes left

Teatru Malta turns ten this week, and they're marking it with two European plays translated into Maltese for the very first time - that's happening Friday and Saturday night in Zejtun. And if you're in Gozo on the weekend, the Kite and Wind Festival is back at San Dimitri, free, outdoors, and a genuinely good way to spend a Saturday morning with kids in tow.

THIS WEEK IN MALTA

- Future Sounds Malta Takeover kicks off this Thursday at Velvet Club in St Paul's Bay - a four-day trance and hard-dance marathon with over 50 DJs, and fewer than 100 weekend wristbands were reportedly still available as of this writing.

- Shanice Farrugia opens her debut solo exhibition this Friday in Mqabba - self-portraiture work that runs through to 8 November, so it's worth knowing about now even if you can't make opening night.

- October is prime outdoor-event weather in Malta, and this weekend has back-to-back free daytime options across the island and in Gozo - a good week to get out of the house and into the open air.
