I'm addicted to bookcovers... and now I'm forced to write, write, write!

Romantasy for the win!

imageWelcome to the fantastical side of romance with magic and myth, ,

Okay, I've gone through and inventoried all the book covers that I've pre-grabbed from my favorite graphic designers, no AI use, and have found book covers that I forgot that I even had!

It was actually like opening up a pleasant surprise gift when I was hunting through my author receipts and found WOAH, I bought this?

I am often swayed by impulse to grab books I know that I would love to be inspired by and write a story for a cover I love.

I found an EXTRA 5 book covers I had forgotten about, 1 a trilogy set, and two standalone covers.

In total, that brings my backlog of book covers to write for up to: 7 trilogies, and 16 standalone covers. Over the last 3 years, I've picked up covers from seasonal blowout sales, and or got my heart strings tugged in an impulse grab. I really should ban myself from looking at pre-made book covers from my favorite graphic designers... I've got to catch up on what I already have.

Plus, now I have to save up holiday money and any other place I scrap together funding to help pay for any editing I need for books I write.

But, my Reaping Olympus (book three of my Medusa retelling book) is in need of a custom cover to match the first two books. I'd love to take the easy way out and choose one of my premades and have it retitled for the series to save on costs, but then the books wouldn't match up.

So, in an effort to help save up costs to finish up my Medusa series, I'm going to finish up writing Riven's Flame - a dragon fantasy adventure romance that I already have a book cover for (one of my premades) and launch that one in a few months to help raise funding for bringing Reaping Olympus to life.

I do have a question for everyone though.

In terms of names for book three of my Medusa retelling... during my inventory search of book cover premades I discovered that I had another name planned for it.

It was Reigning Gods.

Do you like Reaping Olympus or Reigning Gods better for Book Three.

Obviously, my little EasterEgg of the Dark Gods Series is that each book's first letter spells out TBR.

Taking Medusa

Breaking Fate

Reaping Olympus (Reigning Gods)

Reaping Olympus Updates This is where you can see wordcount progress on what I'm writing!

Plus, Here's a sneak peek at some of my book covers I've been hording!

image

Progress bar: 25k/90k words 27%

image

I've written 7 chapters into Reaping Olympus.

Projects I'm working on right now. Yes, I write multiple projects at the same time, because that's how my brain works. It gets all obsessive about one story for like a few weeks then gets distracted, then goes back to a previous project, and rotates around until it actually finishes something. Heart of Darkness has been in progress for a while, and technically that 67% is deceiving as it represents my goal of having the duology completed, meaning book one (or part one) is finished and working through part two. There is over 142 thousand words written in Heart of Darkness currently. My goal is to have the complete story finished and launched together in one book instead of releasing it in two or three books.

Hi, I'm Stevie. I'm a mom of two kiddos, and I write fantasy romance, and alien romances. I started with writing a YA vampire romance, and I retired the 3-book series because it wasn't the same kind of style as the rest of my books, and I didn't want those books to be the first impression readers got of my writing. I also wrote a sci-fi fantasy mash up Kingdom of Acatalec, got a traditional contract book deal, but it flopped because I wasn't and still am not that great at marketing things without more control over what I can do with my books. I received my book rights back and will relaunch that book with my indie control after I finish my Medusa Retelling Series.

The Dark Gods Rising is mythology reimagined if you are like me and believe that the "monsters" of myth and legend were hunted by Greek gods because they were different, because they were a threat to their power and rule. Perhaps, the monsters weren't the bad guys after all, and Medusa wasn't the villain myth made her out to be. There is always more than one side to every story.

Dive into a slow-burn romance, fast-paced fantasy adventure with all the political mechanisms of Greek Myth, and the what-ifs from a different point of view.
