Welcome to the smuttier side of romance books with alien peens and the mates that love them.
Over the weekend, I went to my friend's 40th bday party, and went as an 80's goth for the themed party, with black lips and off the shoulder shirt, with sequined skirt and netted leggins with black leg warmers. And like a typical goth I kind of kept to myself on the couch, not quite the social butterfly as some would expect of a party attendee.
Luckily, I wasn't the only anti-social goth for the evening, but even so, for hermits like myself, just being in the atmosphere of other social people is enough. I am pleasantly happy just existing in a room of people without actually participating. Similarly, with my hubby at home, I am perfectly happy reading a book on my phone while he watches a car show on the tv.
Similarly, necia warriors have the same kind of social structure in that there are plenty of outgoing and hermit-like personalities that both thrive within the culture of the tribal community of sharing experiences. How best to explain this is that it's not that every warrior likes to "share" their mate, or even that every warrior is comfortable in social situations, but that they are of a culture that is accepting of all aspects of normal biological experiences and are not ashamed of what is natural for them.
They claim their mates in a ritualistic ceremony of having sex in front of their tribe, or wherever the mood strikes them, because they are not ashamed of their body's need to procreate, regulate their internal chemistry, or otherwise. They could pee or shit in front of another being without any shame.
That was really the inspiration behind their culture, was a question of what if we accepted ourselves and everything that was normal about us? What if we didn't shame other people for things that were part of existing?
In society today, we care if you walk outside nude, even if it's 90 degrees outside, and wearing clothes is sticky business. We care if a mother feeds their child in public, we care if someone farts, shits, pees, bleeds, or uses a public space for sexytime. If you had sex in a car, even if the windows are all fogged up that is public indecency. Have sex in a changing room, that is public indecency. Give your partner a blow job in a dark movie theatre... don't get caught, that is also public indecency.
And yes, I do agree that there is a time and place for things, especially with children present, but what if we weren't ashamed of things? What if everyone was just like, shrug... that's normal. If someone doesn't like it, they can leave the situation, and there is a system in place for things to be safe and communication is used, what kind of society would that be?
That is the necia tribe, unabashedly accepting of the nature of existence. Shit if you must shit. F*ck if you must fu*k. Fight if you must fight, and just be courteous of those around you from both sides of the equation, from the voyeur to the exhibitionist. There are tribal laws in place for both sides, but it is an agreement that there are things that are normal to existence and not to be ashamed of it.
It was born from the fact that it took me many many years of reconditioning myself to understand that there is nothing wrong with pooping, or having snot come out of my nose, or bleeding when I had a period. These things are normal, and in society we are conditioned to be embarrassed should normal things be seen by others, not ourselves.
What kind of difference high school experience would I have had if I had at least ONE confidence in myself that biology is normal, and if it is seen and someone makes fun of it that THEY are the weird ones to think that it does not happen to everyone?
What I wouldn't give to go back in time and train my younger self to be as confident as I am now. That first instance of being sick and blowing my nose, only to not feel my snot still on my nose. Man, what a world that would be to simply have someone come up to me and hand me a tissue, "Here, I think you need this." instead of "Hey, you have snot on your face." while people laughed?
Or, bleed through my pants, with a big giant red stain on my ass, while someone says, "Let's go get something more comfortable to wear." Instead of feeling shame and embarrassment that people had been staring at my bloody ass without saying anything?
If someone makes fun of you for things that are out of your control, to simply have the confidence to say with a smile, "Happens to all of us."
This is why I love the necia warriors of Necias Prime. They are similar to us, but they were brought up with acceptance of things that are normal for their biology, and have created a tribal culture with laws that appreciate those things, and create an accepting environment, including laws on how to handle aggression, disputes, mates, and otherwise with an understanding of mutual acceptance among warriors. Every warrior is trained to wait for approval from another warrior before they fight, before they f*ck, bathe, or otherwise. And of course, like all societies, not everyone follows the laws, but I still love their society.
