Hi , welcome back to my author newsletter with alien peens, monsters, magic, and the readers who love them!
(You can check out my latest reads after the updates)
Writing Her Alien Delegate first before writing Her Alien Captor was because...
This year has had a lot of mental struggles with depression and motivation to do things that I normally love to do. I didn't write anything for three months.
Three months that I was supposed to have finished a first draft of Reaping Olympus, or even a first draft of Her Alien Captor. Either or would have been fine to me.
But when you're struggling to find joy in anything you do, it was difficult to write either of those books because there are high expectations for both of those books. Her Alien Warrior and Her Alien Prince are my most popular books, and Her Alien Captor follows Her Alien Warrior, after seeing how Her Alien Insurgent has yet to break even on my launch costs after Her Alien Prince.
Her Alien Insurgent was launched as book three in the Trillume Universe August 1st 2023, and is still underwater by 500 of my investment to bring it to life. And yet, it's my most highly rated book at 4.9 stars on Amazon, and 4.75 stars on Goodreads. It was a very fun book to write about Gaven, an estreld male with a sad past, and a mission to spy on the krelins to keep the peace between the planets when he comes across Ashley and they both save each other.
Fun Fictional Fact: Estreld males have a resin-like peen that forms to fit the desires of their fated mate! Not too big, not to small, just right with all the fancy vibration for her pleasure. Check out Her Alien Insurgent in KU: https://books.steviemarie.com/heralieninsurgent
With self-doubts adding to my depression, it was difficult to write Her Alien Captor because I kept thinking What-IF? What-if I write it and it doesn't break even like Her Alien Warrior and Her Alien Prince did? Then I have two new releases that make it impossible to launch the next book, due to funding restrictions.
So, I remembered all the email replies I got from readers that asked if I was going to write Evie's story from Her Alien Exchange.
Then thought to myself, Her Alien Delegate would be a low impact writing project. As I already had a pre-made cover for it sitting around being unused. I'm addicted to scooping up covers from my favorite graphic designers. I didn't have to make it a full-length novel... but it's going to be. I didn't have to write the story at all, but I thought it'd be fun to. The pressure was off, as there were no expectations, but I had motivation to write it because readers said they'd love to know more about Evie, the shy human who Violet from Her Alien Exchange became attached to and became fast besties.
It took several more months of barely getting anything written before my writing mojo returned. I've been going to therapy, and I've been working on myself and the issues in my life that have contributed to my disassociation from myself and things that are supposed to bring me joy.
I'm now at 30,000 words into Her Alien Delegate and hoping to have it ready for my Editor by the end of next week with an estimated 50,000 words at completion. You can read the first unedited 20,000 words early when you grab my book directly from my author store to help support more books written by yours truly here: https://payhip.com/b/Rp28b

Reader HIGHLIGHT!
"Very intense, action packed, steamy start of the Trillume Series." Lynn (Her Alien Starbreaker)
"A seductive, erotic and passionate alien Sci-Fi romance adventure will unfold that adds another compelling story to the Author’s Trillume timeline, as a tightly woven narrative of drama, action, intrigue, tragedy, danger, emotion, mate bonding, and great writing builds to a climatic conclusion in a wonderfully imagined universe I continue to enjoy immersing myself in with each new story." - C. Sinclair (Her Alien Starbreaker)

Her Alien Exchange has been downloaded OVER 9 THOUSAND times, that means the book is in the hands of 9,000+ readers! That being said a majority of those readers are more dragons than worms. The worms gobble up their books bite by bite, while dragons horde and burn through when their mood strikes.

All of my books are standalone alien romances, each a separate complete romance, read in any order, and with their interconnected plots, each book layers and you find out more about the world the more you read. Have questions from one book? Read another one, and you're sure to find more answers, and perhaps more questions as the universe unravels. That's what I love about sci-fi adventures set in the same universe, there's so much room to play!

Today is a recommendation list of the books I've read!
I was part of Leann's ARC TEAM! I read the book before it was released, as I do with all of her books, I'm a HUGE fan of her dark, why-choose romances. I read everything this wonderful human writes. I read her books on the ARC team to get them faster, and then I buy her book or read it in KU to help support her future books! She is one of my Top Indie Favorites!
Check out Zodiac Beasts by Leann Belle, and definitely start from the first book if you haven't already!
5-stars
I met Susanna at a book pop up in Vancouver, we shared a table, and I'd never really read a biker romance or a post apocalyptic one at that. It was outside of my normal wheelhouse of preferred reads, but I've been having a hard time being motivated to read or write lately, and knowing I was reading a book by an author I met in person gave me extra motivation to read it. I grabbed it from Kobo, and I read it super fast in less than a week. The characters were charming to read, and I was surprised I wasn't turned off by the gore of people dying from a pandemic or the zombie-esque feel of how the virus effected people in this world. PLUS, the MMC is a motorcycle gang member with a strong commitment to loyalty and that translated really nice to the romance of this book with the main FMC. It was a really good read with excellent character growth and a really well-thought out plot with a writing style that I was happy to get lost in. Great job, Susanna, and I LOVED meeting you in person!
Check her books out, it's available in KU and WIDE! She's one of those rare unicorn writers that has a writing contract that allows her to have her books in KU and still be available in other platforms. Super jelly.
Standalone plot with spice adventures of fated mates, space vampires, knotting, and bonds that will last beyond the stars! All available in Kindle Unlimited!
