Bookish Romantasy Street TEAM UNITE! Perks of the team and what to do?

Welcome to the fantastical side of romance, magic and myth

image

Hi ,

You're receiving this email because you're part of my Author STREET TEAM!

You have joined one of my past ARC teams, are part of the current team, or simply found me on the interwebs and was like, that is a cool indie author and I will give all my bookish love to her. Either way, happy to have you here.

If, perchance, you have forgotten who I am, or do not wish to be part of my street team, please email me and I will remove you from the list. (No worries if you are an audiobook only team member, I'll work on segmenting my lists better soon, but this email has info for you too!)

PERKS of being part of the Street Team!

This is separate from being part of the ARC team, and you are not obligated to join any of my ARCs or review any of my books.

Perk 1: ARC NOTIFICATION You get notified when new ARCS are available. You get an email for V.I.P.s that means all you have to do is reply to the email saying "YES" and I will add you to the current team, no need to reapply through my sign up or anything. WHICH MEANS FREE BOOKS!

** if you missed the ARC notification for Breaking Fate, please let me know! The ARC is available on BookSiren, BookSprout, and I can send through BookFunnel!

Perk 2: SWAG When I reach author milestones, I send out goodies to my street team! (This is separate from being part of the ARC team, because as soon as goodies are involved, it technically violates Amazon review policies, so the teams ARE separated, and goodies are random, and in no way related to whether you do or do not review my books)

Perk 3: Book Hero Status You are a book hero for being part of my Street Team because having cheerleaders is super important to indie authors! We pull from this well of support often to help push past our writer's blocks, our imposter syndrome, and keep bringing the next book!

The last goodie sent out to the team were Team Romantasy stickers! Sent to everyone, regardless of if they were in the US or not. That's what international stamps are for!

...

Speaking of super awesome swag

..

.

Despite not yet breaking even on launch costs for my Dark Gods Rising Series... I really wanted to show some gratitude to those who have joined the team and been a huge support in pushing past my imposter syndrome to dig into my own savings to get commissioned artwork!

I'm eagerly awaiting the artwork for the "bath" scene of Breaking Fate.

Don't know what the bath scene is? Better get reading the book!

The book is still available on BookSiren if you haven't joined the ARC team yet.

MOST referenced Quote from Breaking Fate is currently: "Who we are today is not who we will be tomorrow or the day after that. Even the most unassuming can influence those who change lives."

Okay, now you know the perks, and a sneak peek at what's to come for the street team!

ACTION ITEMS!

What can you do as part of the street team to help the launch of Breaking Fate? Do one or two or do them all! Rinse and repeat, and do some again every month!

1) Add the book to your Goodread's Shelves!

Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/150498806-taking-medusa

Goodreads: Breaking Fate (Dark Gods Rising, #2) by S.M. McCoy | Goodreads

image

(Even if you don't read the book, this helps boost the book's appearance in the Goodreads feeds for other readers that follow you. And adds another tick/number to the shelves that helps give more support and clout to future readers looking at the book!)

2) Recommend the book on Bookbub!

Bookbub: https://www.bookbub.com/books/taking-medusa-a-greek-myth-monster-retelling-dark-gods-rising-book-1-by-s-m-mccoy-and-sky-robert

Bookbub:Breaking Fate: A Greek Myth Monster Retelling (Dark Gods Rising Book 2) by S.M. McCoy and Sky Robert - BookBub

image

(Nope, you don't have to leave a review to "recommend" the book. You can leave the rating and everything else blank, and it will still push the book to your notification feed for other readers who follow your reviews. Perhaps, you can choose to add, "I'm excited to read this book!" And then when you're ready you can add a review later!)

3) Share the book on FACEBOOK READER GROUPS/ Threads!!

Many groups are reader only spaces, and that means authors like me are not allow to self promote. And for good reason. For one, we are mostly awkward creatures and our self promos are no exception, and secondly, there are no better advocates than fellow readers sharing what they are reading!

Okay, think about this: You have Taking Medusa or Breaking Fate in your Kindle all queued up to read, and you take a screen shot while asking the group Which book should I read first from my TBR?

Literally, the best engagement I've seen from reader groups are when other readers are asking for recommendations. Meaning, there are two AWESOME ways to engage and help boost indie books in these book clubs (Regardless of if it's my book or others. This is a great way of supporting any indie author!)

Here's my own Kindle Library! I borrowed Geek Girl from Libby, and I'm part of the ARC launch team for the newly released books Of Monsters and Mazes (Since preparing this email... I'm 69% through Leann Belle's Dark Romance!), and Queen of Sherwood! I usually wait until the books are out on KU so I can borrow them and help support a fellow indie! I bought The Way We Were Hunters from Brien Feathers for 99 pennies to support her new release, and I love Ella Blake's Alien romances! (To be honest with you GLOW has been part of my Kindle borrows for A LONG TIME... It's not that I don't love her writing, or the story, but I'm a mood reader and it's just taking me longer to get through that series.)

But as you can see, personal recommendations go a long way towards swaying future readers! Go forth and help spread the good bookish word!

4) Do you have a social media account? Do you post bookish content?

Create a post about Breaking Fate or Taking Medusa on Threads! It is a bustling, and growing community of readers and I've seen great interaction in that space!

Feel free to tag me: Stevie McCoy (@authorsteviemarie) on Threads

Consider including Taking Medusa or Breaking Fate in one of your bookish recommendation posts.

5) Become part of the ARC launch Team and Read the books, share the books, review the books! (Not mandatory)

6) Like, share, comment on posts that include the books, or reply to posts that ask for recommendations that match the books.

Out of the box support:

Are you an artist? Draw Fan Art and share it! (I not so secretly await the day I have fan art to share! Of course, I have commissioned art, but fan art... chef's kiss.)

Are you part of a book club? Recommend the book as a buddy read.

Do you usually read books at your library? Ask your local library to carry the books!

Do you have a local indie bookstore that you buy books from? Ask them to see if the book is in stock and indie stores usually take recommendations from their customers on what they stock. (I've been trying to be better about putting myself out there and contacting indie stores to see about getting books stocked with them. A store in FL actually contacted me to buy one of my older books because a customer directly asked for it and I sold a paperback to them! Your voice matters!)

If you have read Taking Medusa, consider sharing your thoughts on all the places! We are 5 readers away from reaching 50 ratings on Amazon!

Breaking Fate's launch is on October 2nd 2024.

Death will take me, in its flames I will rise.

In a world of gods and monsters, prophecy and fate sway hearts and minds until a monster rises to rule them all, and darkness rises on Olympus.

Caught in a deal with the King of the Underworld, Medusa must learn to embrace her power and conquer the darkness in her own mind to protect the dark gods and free herself from the ties that bind her. Reconciling the truth of the past and accepting control over her future, she discovers the strings of fate aren't so easily unraveled. Hades and Poseidon play games with her life, but with the help of new and old allies she pushes to reclaim her destiny for herself. She just didn't expect her heart to play such a vital role in deciding what fate she fights for while the very lives of the deathless gods hang in the balance.

Dive into this slow-burn fantasy adventure with a romance that defies prophecy in this page-turning continuation of Medusa's untold story.

Using current known Greek myths as we know them and retelling them from Medusa’s perspective. After all, history is written by the victors, and the bards got the story all wrong. Poets were influenced by the reigning Olympians, and Medusa still lives and she's fighting through fate to become whole so she can save the very gods that wish to destroy her to keep the one who's stolen her heart.

A paranormal myth and legends adventure romance, plot with spice, that will have you flipping pages well past your bedtime to know what happens next as the dark gods rise up and prove being a hero is a matter of perspective and plot twists that will have you squirming for more.
