I started Sky Robert's Alien Romances in January 2023...

Hi , welcome back to my author newsletter with alien peens, monsters, magic, and the readers who love them!

For those of you who are just getting to know me, my first alien romance was published in January 2023 with Jewel of the Alien Bandit. I'm a mom of two humans in training. I narrate audiobooks when I am not writing about fancy peens and sci-fi adventures.

And before this, I was formerly an accountant. And I have a 5-year plan to make my author career my full-time job that pays a steady livable wage. Meaning, of course, that I expect my business to start with an investment and being in the "red" in accounting speak.

Winter is, surprisingly, the slowest season for alien romances. You'd think winter would mean more time snuggled up with books to read, but I think most readers are sticking to their comfort reads during that time, including holiday specific reads making discovering a new alien romance author a harder transition.

This is one of many reasons why us indie authors depend on our cheer squads to help spread the word and share their love of our words with other readers.

There are many ways to recruit alien romance lovers to a fairly new author to the genre, including bonding over "What dat thang do?", the fun of being able to escape with one book and have a completed story, or delve into the whole series and watch as the world layers and makes you want to learn more!

the trill: a reptilian-like species with scaled tails, spikes, oil glands that subdue their prey or heighten their mate's pleasure, three fingered claws, poisonous spray, and fancy peens with flexible scales that harden to knot within their mates. They have sharp teeth, made for tearing into raw flesh, they primarily eat meat and seldom smile to appear less threatening. Though, they are considered the "big bad" across the universe, they are mostly diplomatic and manipulative of other species to do their dirty work for them. the estrelds: a species of many vibrant colors and adorned with jewels that absorb and transform radiation along their skin, called loh. Their back teeth are made out of diamond rock to allow them to grind up rock, as their primary food source is radiation from the moon (processed through their loh jewels) and eating rocks on their planet for minerals needed to fuel their loh. A male's mating glands are pocketed within a resin-like loh that forms to fit when bonded with a mate. the krelins: a hive-mind species that communicate telepathically with their horns, called kan, to their queen. With horns, wings, and flexibly barbed peens. No, not the kind of barbs that hurt, but more of a knotting/locking in place kind of thing. They are a warrior species with musk that knocks out incompatible mates or a very intense aphrodisiac to mate prospects. Used in battle it knocks out enemies, or disorients them into an all-consuming rut. There is a tense relationship between the krelins and the estrelds nearing on war. the necia: a warrior species recruited by the trill to defend the galaxy in their stead. They are a living weapon with their fangs, and secondary skeleton that comes out in spikes along their skin. Most noteably are their shoulder spikes, called epul, they grow too large to fully seat inside their skin comfortably, so they are often displayed at all times as a sign of their strength. They are like a space-vampire meets Wolverine kind of creature. They value honor and their tribe and are a very liberal species that enjoys public displays of their prowess from fighting to f*cking. Though they are exhibitionist and have no problems with sharing to curb a need, they are possessive in nature and would rather die in a duel than share their chosen mate. Tough and grumpy, they thrive off of honor, and they consider it a great honor to be responsible for their mate's happiness. An upcoming species to keep an eye out for is the unGor, which are mentioned briefly in the other books, but are a big part of the next romance Her Alien Delegate, which will have Evie's story with the Commissioner Broma, and our very first reverse harem of the series, as the unGor keep delegations, a tribe of mates with one primary mate they bond over/with. They are possessive of their mate, but they bond in units, so they become family under the shared interest of providing for the primary mate.

I'm currently at an extra 4,000 words added to the story, and still going. Likely, to finish with an extra 10 to 15,000 words extra with the relaunch, including an extra spicy scene.
