Here are the most recent reviews on Her Alien Warrior!

"I really enjoyed Sky Roberts fated mate series. The story between General Sou-el and Renee was good. Both thinking its too late for love but fate has other plans for both of them. Join the story to see how these two become one happy couple. Enjoy :)" Shell 5-star reviewer

"Being able to face yourself in the mirror and be happy can be hard. Discovering that you deserve happiness is carthetic. The alien is strong, vulnerable, and determined to prove he can provide. She must learn to accept that she is worthy of passionate love from someone other than her love for her children. This is a romance for the future and a great read." Taara 5-star reviewer

"Good story. A must read with twist and turns to a HEA for Renee and Sou-el." Debbie 5-stars!

”Goddess help me," he said under his breath. "I'll bathe you, Human Renee, I had already said I would be honored to do so as a way of amends for my misjudgment. Though I'm unpracticed, I do not wish for your tiny human heart to thunder any louder."

Be still my beating heart and fill me up like only an alien mate can! Snap up a copy of Her Alien Warrior!

Do indie book release stats get you excited or perhaps you're just curious and find data fascinating?

Every email I try to provide a bit of entertainment, search for fellow indies you might find intriguing, and share my author journey.

And I thought 🤔 hmm perhaps you'd find this stuffage as addicting as I do. When I see other authors post their data, I get so excited because transparency is helpful for other authors as well as eye opening for readers on how important they are to the success of an author.

The total cost of bringing Her Alien Warrior to life is less than what it cost to bring Jewel of the Alien Bandit to life because I have less start up costs to include. My basic author platform is built, so my next investment in my career will be saving up around 2,000 to rebuild my website with professional book tables and better site mapping.

But not even including author maintenance costs, Her Alien Warrior was around 1,000 investment across book cover, formatting, etc.

That's a pretty low cost because after learning from 8 other books so far, I've learned how to stretch a dollar and cut where needed, but also I know what marketing worked and what didn't for my books. It takes wasting money to learn sometimes.

My first ever book launch in 2018 cost me over 5,000 and I'm not even sure if I ever actually broke even on that investment unless I count the editing costs as learning to be better at writing. I didn't keep very good records of things at the time and really wasn't taking my writing career seriously.

The cost paid for itself in the quality of future books, which I'm happy about! A good editor can do wonders! I paid for several rounds of edits from developmental to copy to proofing and I'll be honest I'm still not satisfied with that book. Which is why the entire series was removed so I can one day rewrite it from scratch using the ideas but with better story telling skills. I even paid for book covers twice over.

Still learning to this day, but I've gotten much better at the publishing process.

I may not be a one hit wonder but I'm a work horse that knows it's just a matter of time and persistence to build up my author platform to be profitable.

After one week of launching Her Alien Warrior, we are close to halfway covering launch costs... I did add commissioning NSFW art so we are back down to 1/3 of the way towards breaking even!

An author goal of mine is to have launch costs covered by preorders and after launch finally go towards having this be my career and salary. Paying for my coffee, regular life stuffage, and being able to afford to hire a PA to handle marketing tasks so more time can be used to write.

After 1 year of launching my pen name and truly focusing on making my dreams come true. I've finally reached a milestone of a book breaking even on launch costs for 2 books!

Her Alien Prince

And

Her Alien Savior

As of this last week have finally pulled their weight and will now be helping cover author startup, maintenance costs and funding future book launch costs!

This doesn't mean I'm a paid author yet, but it's the next step closer towards that goal! I'm hoping that by the end of the year, I can finally say that my author business is in the black, as an accountant would say, meaning not negative in my balance sheets.

You can help me reach that goal by reading my books in Kindle Unlimited, grabbing a copy on Amazon, or even sharing my books with someone you think would enjoy them. Check out all my books here: https://www.amazon.com/stores/author/B0BNXSFHZ4/allbooks

Her Alien Savior

Her Alien Warrior

Jewel of the Alien Bandit

Her Alien Prince

Her Alien Insurgent (preorder)

The average book gets me around 1 dollar per read through on Kindle Unlimited

Around 2.50 per ebook bought on Amazon

And in previous emails I've discussed that averaging the costs of a book would need around 695 people supporting it throughout the booklife to breakeven!

Her Alien Prince Launched in May 2023 and after a little less than a 1 year it finally broke even! For a new indie this is fabulous. (11 months to break even.)

Her Alien Savior (8 months to break even)

These are my averages of percentages with people who pick up the book and people who read through KU with my Alien Romance Books!

Jewel of the Alien Bandit technically had higher launch costs due to author start up of building the author platform, and includes the launch costs of another book Her Alien Exchange as well. Which Her Alien Exchange, the freebie for this newsletter, did a great job in helping out with reaching readers, but doubles the cost of breaking even.

For an indie author to make minimum wage, after breaking even on launch costs, we need around 150 read throughs on Kindle Unlimited or 75 sold ebooks every DAY!

That seems daunting if you want one single book to carry that burden. Especially, when you consider it took MONTHS to get to the breakeven status for a book.

But add on another book, that's not 75 to 150 new readers, that's around 40 to 80 per book. Still quite scary to think about when my books average around 2-5 new readers a day.

(I'm here!) Four books: need 20 to 40 per book (eep! I'm only doing around 2 a book per day... these numbers still seem scary right?)

Eight books: 10 to 20 new readers per book ... Ooo 10 doesn't seem that far off! With around 4 books launched in year...I could get here by next year for sure!

Ten books: 8 to 15 readers (That's a doable number, but still tough.)

Twenty books: 4 to 8 new readers a day to discover each book, or even just to discover one fan and they want to read all of the books. (THIS! THIS HERE IS CAKE! I'd eat 4 to 8 because that's not that far off from what I'm doing now! This is the sweet spot for an indie! Having enough books in the library to finally be a paid author because all of those 20 books are doing their part to balance the goal of having a career writing books!)

Readers like me latch onto an author they enjoy and read all of their stuff.

So being an indie author is not for the faint of heart. I plan on building my blacklist of books to make it as an author regardless of whether I hit that elusive viral moment or not.

And who knows?

Perhaps alien romances are going to blow up like dragon romances after Fourth Wing? So, what better way to prepare than have my next series be alien dragons. Thank you to everyone who helped vote on what I would write next!

Thank you for being part of my author journey and hope this data was fun to read! We are at 4 books launched, another coming up, and one planned for December.

I project I'll be at 10 books (in Alien romances) by end of 2025, and 20 books by 2027, or sooner!

SNEAK PEEK at Her Alien Insurgent:

(All of my alien romances are stand alone and can be read without having read anything else, but reading Her Alien Prince will enhance the experience of reading Her Alien Insurgent, Quick go read it now in Kindle Unlimited! https://books.steviemarie.com/heralienprince)

"Is this what you want, Goddess?" I demanded as I reached around her gorgeous a-s and prodded a finger at her mating entrance once more while my c--k slid between her folds. My heart was suspended, waiting to end myself within her embrace. I was ready to claim everything she'd give me and accept whatever cursed afterlife would await me when this dream faded.

The head of my c--k notched at her entrance as my second finger pushed in a little farther and I spread them to help stretch her in preparation. My fingers practically pulsated with the heat coming from her slick p---y, and I nipped at her mouth needing to taste her, but unable to pry myself apart. I needed to be closer. I needed to be inside her.

Her small soft hand caressed down my back until she reached between us and gripped the base of my c--k making me hiss with sharp pleasure. With her forehead pressed to mine, she captured me with her brown eyes and as she wiggled to adjust herself my fingers released from her reluctantly.

"Make me forget," she whispered in my ear, and I felt like she truly understood what she did to me.

We would forget together, Goddess.
