Alien Lovers UNITE, ,
Welcome to the smuttier side of romance books with alien peens and the mates that love them.
First off, I need to commemorate reaching 69 reviews/ratings on the zon:
Thank you to Shirley for being review number 69!
If you like alien princes, world building with spicy goodness, wings, horns, and a strong female lead then you can read Her Alien Prince on KU here:

My last email I talked about how HORRIBLE I am at writing reviews. Okay, I'm not super bad, just takes me forever, and they aren't the greatest, but something I think a lot of readers can relate to is that anxiety about being "good" at reviewing, when really it should be the "easiest" thing to do.
Afterall, reviewing is simply sharing our thoughts on a book we enjoyed.
It can be as simple as "I enjoyed this book, and I look forward to the next one."
Or just smashing the star button and moving on.
But, if you like to be better at reviews that the average "This book was great!"
I received an email from a pro reviewer, Bec, on some tips on how to do just that!
Bec said to start with a star guide, how you will consistently rate your books.
I'll give you mine:
5-stars: Loved the book, finished it super fast, will totally read everything this author has written, and follow them everywhere. Join their newsletter, stalk them on Instagram, look forward to the next book of theirs, but will devour their backlist first.
4-stars: Great book, will follow the author, this author's books are added to my TBR to be read by mood, share them with others, there were only up to a few minor things that pulled me from complete fangirling.
3-stars: Good book, average read. I enjoyed the book, but it didn't wow me. It might possibly wow other readers, but something was missing that would have pushed the book over into great for me. Writing was good, and I will read other things by the author if they have a good pitch for their book that intrigues/interests me. Unlikely that I will seek out the author again, but if they pop up and I'm re-intrigued I will give them another shot to give me a 4-star or better experience.
I do not rate below 3-stars. If I didn't enjoy a book, and would consider something under 3-stars, this means I probably DNF'd and as such I will probably only make review notes on Goodreads WITHOUT a rating. If I finished reading a book, I believe that warrants a minimum 3-stars of an average reading experience. My experience is personal, and I will not have my rating influence the success of an author potentially going back and re-launching the book with better editing/execution. Just because I do not enjoy a book doesn't mean it won't click with someone else. As such, there is no point in rating something I didn't enjoy, because it wasn't the book for me, it can still be a book for someone else.
Unfortunately, many people see anything under a 4-star average as a book being bad without considering many people did in FACT rate the book 5-stars and enjoyed the book immensely, a single 1-star review can take several 5-stars to reverse the impact on averages.
For instance: Out of my 69 reviews on the zon 92% of the people who have read the book consider Her Alien Prince to be a 4-5 star read, that's a highly ABOVE average enjoyment level. With only 4 people giving the book an average read rating of 3 stars, and only 1 single person who rated the book a 2 star.
1 SINGLE person did not enjoy the book who reviewed, and that brings the average rating to 4.4 from the 4.5 average before. 1 person results in a significant drop in rating averages, so that is why I do not rate a book I think is less than 3 stars, because there are plenty of people who have excellent experiences with a book, and I don't want to discourage that one fan from discovering the book and giving that author the encouragement and support they need to grow and become the next level of themselves.
Honestly, if I committed to reviewing a book (being on an ARC team or otherwise) and I do not have at least a 3-star rating for them, I will contact the author and let them know that the book wasn't for me and I am unable to review. That doesn't mean that I won't like a future book of theirs, but I wasn't the right market for that particular book. I will admit that if the book doesn't have romance in it that I am NOT the market for the book.
It is a very VERY rare occurrence that I enjoy a book that doesn't have an element of romance in it, but it is equally true that if it is SOLEY romance I will also not enjoy the book much, meaning that I like the fun and adventure of fantasy, magic, and sci-fi, but with romance. If either element is missing (adventure or the romance) I am not the right person for the book. I don't like straight erotica, I like to have story, adventure, world building included. I also don't like straight adventure without a romance/emotional plot alongside it.
Trust me, I WILL start making up a romance subplot in my mind, and if it doesn't come to fruition during the series I will be sad and throw the book and not be happy. I've been listening to the Johannes Cabal Series by Jonathan L. Howard and even though the plot is awesome... I am irrationally irritated that there is no payoff with the relationship between Johannas the Necromancer and Leonie Barrow to the point where I stopped listening to the book midway through book two. Do I think the book is bad? No, the books are EXCELLENT! But I hate them at the same time. Sooo, there you go. I rated book one 4-stars, and I couldn't finish book two, despite the fact that I actually think book two is BETTER than book one. Why? Because it has all the greatness of adventure and intrigue, but not enough romance for me.
The fact is, that a majority of people do NOT complete a book, or publish it. There are lots of things in life that I am not particularly fond of, like fishing, but I don't puuu puuu on people who fish even if they don't do it as beautifully or artfully as a pro fisherman. They got out there, and they still caught fish. I haven't caught a single fish in my life... but I eat them.
Here are the tips for writing your book reviews:
1) create a consistent rating system you will stick to.
2) be specific with names. Instead of the book, write the name of the book. Instead of author, write the name of the author.
3) write your thoughts, you don't have to give a synopsis, or a play-by-play of the plot, it can just be your feelings about the book like talking to your book buddies.
4) be honest.
Here's my latest review on Convergence by Etta Pierce:
My favorite kind of alien romances are the ones where both MCs have an undeniable attraction to each other but a very real reason to prevent themselves from allowing themselves to choose and do what they feel like doing. That tug and pull of I WANT to, but I CAN'T because my pride, my obligations, my honor, my something is more important than my momentary happiness. Until they both realize what they have is more than momentary, it's I can't live without you, and we can do those things together.
Convergence by Etta Pierce gave me all the right romantic feels with the right amount of adventure and world building until the characters give in to their desires and they get to have their happiness and still save the universe together.
I couldn't wait to read more of this Intersolar Union series, and I already gobbled up book two, and have started on book three! Etta Pierce is one of my new favorite alien romance authors, and I've already tooted her horn in every newsletter for the last week, and her author assistant is probably like... what's that spike in KU reading from? Did we have an author swap I forgot to mark down? Nope... it was you guys listening to me get excited and sharing this awesome indie with you!
Perhaps, I'll slip into her DM's and see if she'll mention my book to her readers and be like THAT, that feeling of duty versus love... I've got that too! If you've already read Etta Pierce and love her books, I think you'll really enjoy my books too, I feel like we are author sisters and like the same yummy alien love.
That is the kind of romance I like to write as well. Both characters in Her Alien Prince know from the very beginning that they WANT each other, but duty and desire do not mix, and they must learn that they don't have to do things on their own, and together they are stronger and capable of great things. The yin to the yang, fated to be right kind of not "perfect" for each other.

Today's Indie Kindle Unlimited Temptations:
When I land in the wrong world as a ghost, I think nothing can be worse. Koschei, the god of the dead, proves me wrong the moment he appears and drags me into his kingdom.
That place filled with nothing but bones and misery? Yeah, that one.
He has news for me. First, worlds are collapsing into each other, and if not stopped, they will become as full of life and joy as the world of the dead. Second, it’s somehow my fault. Third, if I help Koschei save the world, he might consider helping me save my sisters.
Sure, he’s frustrating with his lack of trust, and his gorgeous face, and his bulging muscles. And yeah, the kiss he found so disgusting he spat right after.
This is fine. This is perfectly fine. Really. It’s fine.
But where the hell is my body?
A fated Mates Romance with a Difference...
One day, on a planet far from Earth, I meet my fated mate. The only problem is, he’s in love with someone else.
And of course check out Etta Pierce!
Olivia Loxley was a behaviorist with the Los Angeles Police Department. Until her specialty in profiling the human mind becomes of unique interest to Commander Atarian, that is. When she wakes up in a cell on an alien spacecraft, she gathers her strength for a confrontation that never materializes. Instead, the man asks for her help in the largest raid he's ever overseen: a pleasure cruiser christened the Paramour, which has been siphoning humans into galactic sex trafficking for months. But in order for his mission to go off without a hitch, he needs to impersonate a connoisseur of human flesh. The real question is, will either of them be able to keep up professional boundaries? Or will they bow to their primal instincts?

"Mrs. Robert's is a new to me author, but not anymore!
Wow, I found Mrs. Robert's treasures of trillume series through the alien romance group I am a part of and I am so glad I did because I loved Luan and Vareo's story so much because it was so different from other alien romance books I've read before. And because of that it kept me interested in their story from beginning to end, and now I can't wait to read the next book in this series." - 5-star Reviewer Alma on GR

UPCOMING RELEASE:
And I'm hard at work, finishing up the next necia warrior fated mate Her Alien Savior, which is available for pre-order now on the zon, or through my author store.
My alien warrior thinks he's supposed to save me, but we may just save each other.
What happens if your exchange program with another alien planet gets hijacked by a warrior that says your contracted host is a criminal? And you're required to help him infiltrate, and apprehend them, or else? Well, I guess that's what happened to me, but it was difficult to know who to trust when being a human meant I was treated like a second-class alien, and injected with nanobug trackers like a criminal.
All of that would be pretty difficult to handle if I was doing it on my own, but I wasn't the only one to get roped into this mission, and the warrior assigned to protect me during my mission was not only hot, but used to be commander of this ship before he was forcefully removed by the current warrior in charge. My only choice was to figure out a way of surviving this mission, and keeping my heart safe from catching the feels for an alien that didn't have the same kind of feelings towards intimacy as humans. Could I keep my feelings to myself when he starts calling me his mate, and runs off into danger without me?
Fans of Grace Goodwin, Laurann Dohner, and Ruby Dixon will love this steamy new series featuring strong, respectful, possessive, alien warrior heroes and the sassy, powerful women who save them!
Dive into a fated mates, spicy monster love romance with instalust, exhibitionism, strong female empowerment, alpha male with consent, and alien extremities. Others in the series are: Her Alien Prince on KU, Jewel of the Alien Bandit on KU, and Her Alien Exchange.
Be sure to catch up on the universe by reading the others in the Trillume series on Kindle Unlimited, they are all standalone, but trust me they layer on each other, so even though you can start at any one book, you'll want to read them all to uncover the layers of the universe plot!
