Hello my loves! Jennifer Julie Miller just released the next book in the House of DaR universe! Something to sink your eyeballs into while we wait for Her Alien Prince to release on MONDAY! If I weren't reading book three in this series, SoL, I would be reading this IMMEDIATELY! And I just read her NL earlier and it already reached #1 in its category for release! Congrats Jennifer!
If you didn't know... I wuff Jennifer, and her books. I read book 7 Hugo first, then went back and read book one DaR, then XuL, and I have book 3, SoL, queued up next in my Kindle Unlimited, just waiting to be devoured, and THEN what do I see in my email... the NEXT BOOK! AvX and just look at him. LOOK AT HIM! Drools. So, excited!
Now, I should warn you that Jennifer's series are slow-burn romances, as in they have all the feels, but you usually don't get smexy time until the second half/sometimes EVEN waiting until the EPILOGUE to get any action smut wise, but the romance is lovely, and the world building is so good. The sexy times in her books aren't long or even that steamy in my opinion, but it doesn't bother me because the story and the romance is so sweet! But don't be fooled by the term "sweet" because her books have trigger warnings as the circumstances of humans in the universe is a dark one, and these humans have gone through abuse and trauma, that is healed when they meet their fated mates and are accepted for who they are, and treated with kindness and possessive alpha protective instincts that charm and rebuild our battle worn human females.
Sooo, obviously, I had to tell everyone about this new release, and of course remind people who have never heard of Jennifer to start from the beginning with DaR, then work your way up to AvX! I started with book 7, Hugo, and there were spoilers for the universe, OBviously, but though it didn't take away from how awesome the story was, it would have been BETTER if I had read in order.
So, if you're caught up then dive into AvX, if not then start with DaR:

One thing for sure is that I will destroy the entire universe to keep her safe. No one touches what’s MINE!

I spent some time cleaning up my yard and my patio for the nicer weather... and found some gross spider sacks, and a bug sack of unknown origins that was too weird for me to touch even with gloves... so I asked my hubby to grab it with a paper towel and toss it in the garbage... otherwise I would not feel comfortable sitting on the outdoor furniture until I knew all the stuffage was cleaned off. Soooo, now everything is pretty, and my fake palm tree is ready for action.
I had to take a mental break from working on Her Alien Savior. I know, I had a self-imposed deadline of having the book ready for ARC readers by the time Her Alien Prince was launched on May 1st, but I just don't see me getting the second half of the book fixed up in time to even have it pushed out to the Beta readers by Monday.
I'm going to read this weekend and enjoy some other people's stories, like Jennifer's series, and perhaps start reading Neon Gods by Katee Robert. I bought the book at an ACTUAL bookstore when I read Becky's review on it, and I'm not going to lie... it's BECAUSE it's in paperback that it will probably take me longer to read, because it's more difficult as a mom to read a paperback because by the time I have time to read... it's usually bedtime and I can't find any of my booklights!
