Why are people so obsessed with hockey players?
They’re sweaty. They smell like gym socks that have been festering in the pits of hell for days. Half of them have chipped or missing teeth. They’re cocky, egotistical miscreants.
But people see a jersey and a guy who can skate down the ice as fast as possible on literal knives, and suddenly, they’re ready to get on their knees.
I must be missing something, because as I walk through the dining hall, more than half the people here are watching the raucous hockey table with big, glittering eyes.
