UK CBAM: Are Your Records Ready?
What changed? UK CBAM begins on 1 January 2027. HMRC has published default emissions values and guidance on charge rates.
Who is affected? Importers of covered goods, compliance and finance teams, and overseas suppliers.
Why does it matter? Returns using default values cannot subsequently be amended, making reliable emissions data and supplier records critical.
What should you do? Identify goods in scope, obtain supplier emissions data and review record-keeping processes.
