🌟 Where are your enquiries disappearing?
Hi
Generating an enquiry is only the first step. The real opportunity comes from what happens afterwards.
Here are three common places businesses lose potential customers and some simple ways to close the gaps.
1. Taking too long to respond
When someone contacts several businesses, the first helpful reply often has the advantage.
Set a realistic response target and make sure somebody is responsible for checking telephone calls, emails, forms and social media messages.
The benefit: A quick response reaches potential customers while their interest is still fresh and before a competitor gets there first.
2. Poor handovers between team members
Enquiries can easily get lost when one person answers the telephone but another person needs to follow up.
Keep a simple shared record showing the customer’s details, what they need, who is dealing with it and what needs to happen next.
The benefit: Everyone can see the current position, reducing forgotten callbacks, repeated questions and mixed messages.
3. Giving up after one attempt
People miss calls, overlook emails and become busy. One unanswered message does not always mean they are no longer interested.
Create a simple follow-up routine. This could include another telephone call, a short email and a final friendly message over several days.
The benefit: You give genuine potential customers another opportunity to respond without chasing them endlessly.
You may not need more enquiries. You may simply need a better system for looking after the ones you already receive.
