Dear Readers and Friends,
I've discovered that being a writer means you're always having a second conversation in your head.
Someone says something completely ordinary, and while you're nodding along and pretending to be a normal person, another part of your brain is off asking questions.
Like, here are normal conversation questions:
Why does a place sometimes feel familiar when you've never been there before?
Why can you meet someone for the first time and have the strange feeling that you've met them before?
Why does déjà vu happen?
Most of us get that feeling occasionally and shrug it off.
My writer brain, apparently, thinks the correct response is, Okay, but what if there's a reason?
