Do you enjoy reading on rainy days {{contact.first_name}}?

A little autumn reading, a modern Holmes diversion, and a roundup of what’s new.

Hello there

“But the dull days come, and the rainy days come, and always you are driven to fill up the chinks of your reading with the worthy books which wait so patiently for your notice.”

—Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Hello there ,

Rainy days and Conan Doyle are on my mind today because autumn has arrived along with much-needed rain, and I've also discovered the Sherlock and Co Podcast. I've long been a Holmesian, so adaptations snag my interest, but not many of them live up to their promise, in my view anyway.

Sherlock and Co is a modern take on the stories and they're not for everyone, largely on account of the swearing, but I'm enjoying the characters, the friendships, the humour and the in-jokes. They're good fun.

In related news, Mrs C bought tickets to the Sherlock Museum at 221B Baker Street for my birthday, so I have a trip to London coming up at some point. I've never been to the museum and I'm looking forward to it.

I've got quite a few things to share today, so I'll get on with the featured photos.

One regular, in her eighties, has completed over 400 parkruns and that's rather wonderful.
