PRACTICAL CBT Newsletter
by Professor Patrick McGhee, FRSA, AFBPsS, BABCP
Dear ,
Welcome to our latest newsletter.
Beyond Zoom
Watchout for our new interface to replace Zoom for our larger events. This state-of-the-art system will not only enable high quality Main Presentations but also enable a Social Lounge where delegates can choose who they mingle with on themed topics. Plus Speed Networking where colleagues can choose to be linked up to a fellow delegate on a random one-to-one basis for 1-5 minutes to discuss key topics or just a chitchat. There will also be Structured Upvoting for questions and suggestions during the live broadcast on the 'main stage'. Watch our for details next time and some dry runs this month!
The Delegate Survey
Thank you to everyone who completed our Delegate Survey. We had no fewer than 85 responses. Here are just some of the headlines:
- Over 80% of you said you had recommended Practical CBT to a colleague for their CPD.
- Over 90% of you said that "after a Practical CBT webinar I feel I could apply a technique in a client session straightaway"
- The two most requested webinars for the future were Managing client risk in counselling and psychotherapy and ADHD / ASD and mental health. Watch out for webinars in those areas later next month.
- 100% agreed that the webinars were 'informative' and 'well-presented'. Only 99% said that they were enjoyable, so clearly something to work on there...
- 85% said that compared to other online CPD webinars, Practical CBT webinars were "More useful in my practice".
- While 62% of respondents were CBT or Integrative CBT, the other 38% identified PCT, REBT, CFT, EMDR, Humanistic and others as their main modalities. So we remain a very diverse community.
- Finally, just over half said that post-Covid "for CPD I will probably be attending mostly webinars with the occasional F2F workshop".
The suggestions from colleagues for new developments were fanastic and we will be revealing some of those next week as well as the prizewinners.
