Hello Romance Readers,
A quick non-book related story.
My middle school daughter asked if she could go halloween costume shopping with her friends and I offered to take them to the Spirit Halloween Store.
Why you ask?
Because pre-covid we as a family went every year, I loved getting scared by the awesome displays - its like a free haunted house but like they say nothings really free because I end up spending lots of money on costumes and accessories.
I picked up the girls from school and we headed over to one of the larger stores near us. Only we walk in and there were no scary moving mannequins. I scanned the store and there were some visual displays but no moving witches, zombies etc. Let's just say I was rather disappointed.
I grew up in Australia and back then trick or treating or dressing up wasn't big. When I move to the US I fell in love with the holiday.
Is Halloween big where you live?
And if you are wondering whether or not it was a successful costume run... it was. My daughter and one of her friends decided to be nurses, while another decided to be a pirate and her other friend pieced together a unique but fun costume.
