REFUEL | Sunday 18th October
Hello
Can we talk about getting older for a minute?
Not in the "here are 27 things you need to change about yourself" kind of way. We have quite enough of that already!
I mean the real stuff.
The moment you realise your body doesn't always respond in the same way it used to. That you might need a little longer to recover, that your strength needs more attention, or that things you once took for granted suddenly feel a bit different.
And perhaps the biggest realisation of all? You can't approach your 40s, 50s and beyond in quite the same way you did in your 20s.
But here's the good news.
Getting older isn't about doing less. It's about learning what your body needs now.
That's something I come back to time and time again in my Pilates classes and through my work with Somalates®.
Less punishment. More understanding. Less chasing perfection. More building a body that supports the life you want to live.
So, let's REFUEL.
THE BODY EDIT
Your bones deserve some attention
October is Menopause Awareness Month, and one conversation I think deserves far more attention is bone health.
During the menopause transition, declining oestrogen can contribute to bone loss. This matters because our bones are living tissue, constantly being broken down and rebuilt.
