Senior Men Power Rankings
It's that time again.
Time for me to go deeper down the rabbit hole than any speedgolf nerd has dared to go. I've sifted through the stats and I've stalked 33 senior speedgolfers across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, triathlon clubs, car reviews, masters tennis... you get the picture.
But before I tell you who I think is going to win, let's look at how I did last time.
My #1, Joe Matsui: finished 5th
My #2, Steve Vancil: finished 3rd
My #3, Damian Mills: finished 2nd
My #4, Mikael Palmberg: finished 4th (nailed it!)
Your World Champion: unranked
Oops.
2024 World Champion Marko Kuningas told me (after he won) that he was happy to see himself ranked #16 in the Open Men's division in my power rankings. He had conveniently omitted a pesky-but-relevant little factoid: that he'd just turned 50 years old.
The rest is history. Marko played the 700 Club in 46:29 while the rest of the Senior field was posting times in the low 50s. Damian Mills made a heroic chase on the final day, but the King was in no real danger.
