Hey ,
Welcome to the smuttier side of romance with alien bits that vibrate and the mates that love them.
Recently, I read an email that basically encouraged men to ignore women and play the game to win at love... this was advise people... I'm going to just say what my immediate reaction was to this article, which was BARF!
I get that psychologically speaking there is merit to the whole ignore your love interest so that you don't come across as needy, and basically do a bunch of shitty gaslighting to make your love interest feel little and therefore grateful for any attention given. Again BARF!
This is probably the reason for the high divorce rates, if this is how people are truly snagging their "mates". I say it in quotation marks because I have better advise that is still based on psychology that will build a healthier start to any relationship you may want with any friendships, or romance.
My advice in this email are two things:
Proximity, and Self-Care.
Proximity means being part of that person's life on a regular basis. That's it, being available, listening, and actively participating in this person's life that you wish to be close to. It is scientifically proven that love and affection are brewed from familiarity with someone.
And the way you avoid being "needy" while you go about being part of someone's life is to focus on yourself. Self-care. Be comfortable with your life without them in it and enjoy things that make you happy. If that includes that person, then great! And if you see someone pulling away, don't force it. Do something for you, and depending on the circumstances you can still try to be part of their life, and the affection will grow naturally with proximity.
If you're trying to work towards romance instead of friendship, just make sure that you make those motives known before you're in too deep. Honesty goes a long way. But again, always be fostering your own self-love, so that you can take a 'no' gracefully, and a 'yes' with an open heart.
I'm not an expert/guru or anything. This isn't a Dear Abby column, so take my thoughts as they are, my opinion, but I hope it helps you with true human connections, not just the sweet, sweet alien peen written about in my upcoming release Her Alien Prince.
Speaking of alien peen, OMG he is HUGE. So, if you're into feeling super full, from the inside out, and size diff tropes, then this alien prince is your guy!
Here's what some of my ARC readers had to say!
"I received an ARC copy of the book. Definitely enjoyed book 2. It's got fated mates, forbidden romance, action, political intrigue. The love story between Trent and Mabel is beautiful. Fighting for what you believe in and a coming of age story since Mabel doesn't know who her family is. I highly recommend this book of you read the first." - 5-stars from Melissa!
"I have to say the more I read this, the more I love the story. One thing you do that I enjoy is you don't make the female heroine stupid. I see this often in other stories and I usually can't finish them due to frustration at the blatant silliness of the characters.
Tis is not how you write your characters (thankfully). In fact each of the characters here act according to the personality you showed us throughout the story. Well done.
I wish I could write as well as you do. Your imagination and storytelling is wonderful." - 5-star review from my Beta Reader Tori!
