Poll: Spooky Season is coming... Do you read seasonal stories?

Romantasy for the win!

imageWelcome to the fantastical side of romance with magic and myth, ,

Do you read Spooky Books during Spooky Season?

Yes! I mostly read seasonal books during Spooky Season

Sometimes. I read whatever is on my TBR, occasionally it's a seasonal book

No, I rarely read a seasonal book, even during spooky season

This is my makeshift polling system. Clicking on the button will send you to a "You-Did-It" polling page on my website to say your click was recorded. Each button is opt1, opt2, opt3. And I can see the results of the poll in my email provider under which button is pressed. (Most polling services don't have a direct in email provider option without spending money to have the fancier newsletter providers or paying for a polling and survey website.) As I am a poor indie author, this is my work around.

I'm using your answers to decide if I should do a few seasonal books to promote during seasonal times, as I usually see a dip in my readership in correlation to seasonal reads, like Halloween, and Christmas.

If you are a YES to seasonal reads but prefer one season over another for what you like to read, let me know!

I'm considering adding a few seasonal books to my book bank, and that means I need to start writing this month to get them all ready.

I've been watching that newest Netflix show called Bon Appétit, Your Majesty.

I am more of a k-drama binge watcher, and my patience is tested to wait until the end of September for the episodes to come out. I've been gobbling up each episode as it comes. I love a good slow burn, and a bit of an enemies to lovers vibe.

Reaping Olympus Updates:

If you've been waiting for more news about Reaping Olympus, book three of the Dark Gods Rising, Taking Medusa series, then rest assured, I will write the next book, but it's been put on hold due to a lack of reader interest in supporting the series. Not that there aren't a bunch of you who love the series, but there wasn't a single reader who wanted to preorder the book when I put it up on my author store. I had it up for two weeks and not a single click to help support editing costs by grabbing a preorder.

I've since added Taking Medusa up for freesies on Curios, hoping to boost new readership into the series, giving readers a chance to join the series with no risk. The goal is to have those who read the book, love it, and help support the continuation of the series by grabbing book two Breaking Fate. I will launch Reaping Olympus with my own funding if Breaking Fate can breakeven on launch costs. That will give me enough funds to help pay for a bookcover and some of the editing costs.

Until then, Reaping Olympus's release is pushed out to 2026.

Happy reading, and perhaps you'll find your next favorite read among the featured indie authors below!

Hi, I'm Stevie. I'm a mom of two kiddos, and I write fantasy romance, and alien romances. I started with writing a YA vampire romance, and I retired the 3-book series because it wasn't the same kind of style as the rest of my books, and I didn't want those books to be the first impression readers got of my writing. I also wrote a sci-fi fantasy mash up Kingdom of Acatalec, got a traditional contract book deal, but it flopped because I wasn't and still am not that great at marketing things without more control over what I can do with my books. I received my book rights back and will relaunch that book with my indie control after I finish my Medusa Retelling Series.

The Dark Gods Rising is mythology reimagined if you are like me and believe that the "monsters" of myth and legend were hunted by Greek gods because they were different, because they were a threat to their power and rule. Perhaps, the monsters weren't the bad guys after all, and Medusa wasn't the villain myth made her out to be. There is always more than one side to every story.

Dive into a slow-burn romance, fast-paced fantasy adventure with all the political mechanisms of Greek Myth, and the what-ifs from a different point of view.

Read Taking Medusa!
