Thank you to everyone who has grab Taking Medusa from Curios for FREEsies!
It's a creative platform that puts more into the pockets of the creators!
I've added the book back up as a freebie on Curios because I thought about it, and yes, the book hasn't paid back its launch costs yet, but I decided I'd rather see more people read it than get a few dollars here and there to trickle in paying off character art, covers, editing, and the like.
I figure, if you enjoy the book, and want to support the completion of book three, then you can grab the books from Amazon, or grab book two along with the freebie book one from Curios.

I'm always worried when I give a book away for free that it reduces the chances of readers actually reading the book and having it sit in the ever-growing digital library, but I also know many readers want to make sure they enjoy an author before they invest in one. I hope that you'll take a chance on my books, and give Taking Medusa a chance.
Today was the first day back at school for the kiddos, and it's been one week since my last book launch under my pen name Sky Robert for a reverse harem spicy alien romance called Her Alien Delegate!
I'm pretty happy about how my alien romance platform has been progressing, this launch had me afraid during pre-launch that it may flop, but launch week changed my mind, blowing me away with my best launch yet. It already has 30 reviews on Amazon, and 55 on Goodreads with a 4.4 average star rating, and is already 70% of the way towards paying off its launch costs within one week, which is more than I can say for my romantasy releases.
Taking Medusa has around 120 ratings on Goodreads, but that's after a couple of years of being launched, and it is still at 32% towards paying off launch costs, and Breaking Fate book two is at 18% of the way towards paying its own launch costs.
I think it's more difficult to stand out in Romantasy in a sea of romantasy books out there, and my hope is that having book one for free on Curios will help drive up interest and have more readers picking up Breaking Fate to help offset the costs of bringing it to life.
My romantasy books are successful in the sense that most readers who give it a try love the book but struggling in the sense of finding more readers to help support it so I can finish writing book three. Because of the lack of support of pre-ordering Reaping Olympus, book three, I've postponed the launch plans for this book.
Yes, I will still write the book, but I do need funding to be able to do that, so I'm focusing on my alien romances to help boost my author platform to afford launching Reaping Olympus. It has been pushed back until 2026. I plan on writing Her Alien Captor first, then Reaping Olympus. If Breaking Fate can help bring in some funds to pay for Reaping Olympus's editing costs, then I'll prioritize bringing it to life.

Hi, I'm Stevie. I'm a mom of two kiddos, and I write fantasy romance, and alien romances. I started with writing a YA vampire romance, and I retired the 3-book series because it wasn't the same kind of style as the rest of my books, and I didn't want those books to be the first impression readers got of my writing. I also wrote a sci-fi fantasy mash up Kingdom of Acatalec, got a traditional contract book deal, but it flopped because I wasn't and still am not that great at marketing things without more control over what I can do with my books. I received my book rights back and will relaunch that book with my indie control after I finish my Medusa Retelling Series.
The Dark Gods Rising is mythology reimagined if you are like me and believe that the "monsters" of myth and legend were hunted by Greek gods because they were different, because they were a threat to their power and rule. Perhaps, the monsters weren't the bad guys after all, and Medusa wasn't the villain myth made her out to be. There is always more than one side to every story.
Dive into a slow-burn romance, fast-paced fantasy adventure with all the political mechanisms of Greek Myth, and the what-ifs from a different point of view.
