We've all been there. I love a good alien abduction as much as the next alien fan girl, but burn out of the trope is real, and the reason why I write my own alien romances. I still craved the high of reading a good alien romance, but the abduction and slave tropes weren't hitting the right spot for me.
I wanted romance, but I wanted that escapism that comes with out of this world cultures and societies, sci-fi adventures, political intrigue of the interstellar variety along with the fancy peens, beta on the streets, alpha in the sheets, worship your mate, acceptance of differences, and someone who wants to see you smile.
But many of the alien romances that don't have the abduction/slavery trope also lacked the tension of adventure, and the stakes against the romantic couple were too low for me to enjoy the moment they accept each other.
So, I strived to create that balance of world building, fast-paced sci-fi adventure, and two people finding each other and being their healing support in a strange and difficult universe.
Yes, my alien romances have smutty goodness, and scenes that will make your lashes burn, but it's more than that. Because the more is what makes those scenes so much better.
With my alien romances you will get backstory, world building, characters to fall in love with, and spice that makes you squeal with delight.
Some people who don't know what spicy books are about, may incorrectly assume it's simply word smut, but it's more than that.
It's acceptance, it's hope, it's living the dopamine high of someone else's happiness after fighting for it. It's healing, and entertaining. It's sharing my own mind hallucinations with another human and enjoying a new world. It's immersing yourself in something new and strange.
How unbelievably crazy and remarkable is it that we can connect that way and share the same words, but all have different experiences with it!

When you grab the book direct, more pennies are kept with the author. For every 99 penny book, an indie makes around 35 cents from Amazon.
Direct, I get around 50 cents depending on if you use Stripe or Paypal as your payment method through my author store. That's 40% more pennies in the author's pocket by grabbing direct!
Her Alien Starbreaker: I FAILED at completing Her Alien Starbreaker in September like I'd hoped to. I got overwhelmed with launching Breaking Fate, converting it to audiobook, (As I'm the narrator myself) And I took on other narration projects outside of my own works setting me back on my schedule for my own things. I think I'll be able to finish Breaking Fate's audiobook adaptation today and thus have this project as my sole priority for at least a week to try to finish this before I go on vacation in October. It stresses me out that my brain likes to put pressure on me by really cutting it close to deadlines in order to be productive. Procrastination in the form doing other projects is a HUGE hurdle for me to overcome all the time.
I have until November 1st to hand in my book file to the anthology... I'm telling myself my deadline is October 10th instead, so that it's done and in the hands of my editor with enough time to turn in BEFORE October 22nd.
