Hey ,
So, I've done it! I've switched from Mailerlite to SendFox. If you're an author then you might want to know about some of the hiccups involved in the switch, but also just a HUGE sorry to everyone for being blasted with welcome emails again.
According to my friend Jackie on Twitter, "You can never have too much welcome." AND "Also top hats. You can never have too much of them either." Follow her podcast These Mums Write, or just her in general because she's awesome, and made me feel a bit better about this whole thing.
No, I do not believe Twitter is going to collapse. I will still be using it, but I am also on Facebook/Instagram, plus I have you guys here, so I'm not too worried about losing all of my fun book peeps.
Also, some things to know about SendFox and the switch for this newsletter.
I have TWO newsletters.
1 for Sky Robert and my Spicier Sci-fi and Fantasy Romances (Upcoming debut is Jewel of the Alien Bandit, and also writing Mated to the Enemy on Inkitt.) Not part of this newsletter and want to be? I'll be revealing the cover for this book, and recruiting for the ARC team in December. ---->
1 for S.M. McCoy Sci-fi and Fantasy Adventure Romances (The one you're on if you're reading this email)
And if you unsubscribe from one... you are unsubscribed from BOTH. That is a failure on the new SendFox platform, but one I must deal with as I have to reduce my author overhead costs. SendFox was a one-time purchase for me, and up to 7,500 emails I don't have to spend any more money on it monthly, and performs most functions surprisingly well, and they are doing LOTS of updates, and improvements. One update soon enough, this issue may be resolved.
That is why, if you want to unsubscribe from one, and not be unsubscribed from me all together I try to include the subscription update options at the end of the emails that move you from one list to another, or removed from one list or another without ever clicking an unsubscribe button.
HAPPY TURKEY DAY!
I'm spending turkey day at my parents, we had it at my place last year, and I'm thankful I'm not responsible for food this year (Though I'll be honest I wasn't fully responsible for the food last year either... they brought food with them.) This was all very smart on their part, no one wants me to be responsible for all the food, unless everyone is looking to have a small and basic meal, not large enough to have leftovers, nor all the goodies one may have become accustomed to on such a day. My youngest will HOPEFULLY try some new foods, but it's unlikely. The kid won't even try mashed potatoes. Or even be convinced it's fun to be a bunny rabbit and eat some carrots.
Wish me luck.
In Authorly news & PAPERBACK GIVEAWAY!
I've finished formatting and having My Abett available in Paperback for $5.99.
For those of you who prefer to read your books with paper in your hands, and as a thank you to everyone and in the festive holiday giving spirit. I will be giving away two of these paperbacks to people subscribed to my newsletter.
ALL subscribers on this newsletter are entered:
That's right, just by being on my newsletter you are automatically included in the drawing for the paperback! So, if My Abett has been sitting in your e-reader waiting for you, but you just haven't got around to reading your books through a reader as often as you pick up a paperback, then you're in luck!
Want more chances at being one of the winners?
You can increase your odds of winning by forwarding this email to at least one person who likes to read sci-fi fantasy adventure romances!
In your email, ask them to subscribe to my newsletter.
You can say something like: "Hey! I'm following this author of sci-fi fantasy romances and thought you might like their new book. If you subscribe to her newsletter, like I do, by December 14th, you are entered to win a signed paperback copy!" You can add that you are super excited, and hope that you win the book yourself, but hey, if your friend wins then you can try to convince them to give it to you after they read it, haha!
Link to joining S.M. McCoy's Newlsetter, they automatically get the e-book copy for joining, and they are entered to win the paperback by being on my newsletter! https://dl.bookfunnel.com/pzx6j7x29n
Next: Send me a screenshot of your email to [email protected] and say how many people you've invited. (So, that I know how many extra entries to add for you.) That's right, for every person you invite you get an extra entry, even if they don't decide to join themselves.
That's it! For every person you invite you get an extra entry. Double your chances just by inviting one, or send it to all the people who love to read like you do, and BAM! Your chances fly higher.
DEADLINE: December 14th midnight PST
Drawing held on December 15th. I'll draw two people, each will get a signed copy of My Abett! Eligible are US postal subscribers, but if you are outside of the US, I'm happy to still send it to you, if you're willing to cover any shipping costs over $5.00. Appreciate your understanding. Winners must be current newsletter subscribers, and confirm their mailing address via email once contacted as a winner.
Good Luck!
Want to know how I will randomize things? I will export everyone on my newsletter to an excel on December 15th, I will double check to make sure any added December 14th after midnight are removed. Then I will enter in the extra entries that have been emailed to me. Use Excel to randomize a total of 7 times. 7 seems like a good number. And pick the top two results. I will not use any 3rd party software for this to maintain data security.
And for those of you on the Sky Robert Newsletter you'll be getting an email in December for the option to be part of the ARC team for an upcoming release of Jewel of the Alien Bandit! Also, currently working on a free novella for the Treasures of Trillume series that will be free to all. So, stay tuned! Also, I do plan on doing a similar Paperback giveaway for this spicy book, so keep an eye out in January!
I already got some create reviews from typo killers on Jewel of the Alien Bandit!
"...a thrilling story and tastefully written. As well as endearing to read Luan's and Vareo's own perspectives as they try to guess how the other feels about them, almost always on the same page without them knowing. I look forward to reading what happens in your next book!" -- TypoKiller/Beta Reader Louise!
She found lots of little edits here and there that really improved the book, and I'm so excited to share it with everyone on my Sky Robert Newsletter!
I'm still working on Book two of the Acatalec Series, I've hit a delay due to my commitment to finish the narration on City of Light by Darren Deegan audiobook adaptation. And even fell behind on NaNoWriMo... because I got distracted with editing Jewel of the Alien Bandit. I always get distracted when I see the book cover come together on a project and it reignites my vigor to push through the finish line!
Excuse me while I go watch someone else make food for Thanksgiving, and try my best to catch up on my word count while the munchie is distracted with the grandparents...

Disclaimer: Sometimes, not all the time, I do use affiliate links, at no cost to you, and I only recommend or promote things that I personally trust, checked out, want to read or have read myself. Books that I myself would share with friends and family. I do not sell your email/information. I also do not buy/spam emails. If you are on this newsletter it is because you clicked a marketing consent when you entered a sponsored giveaway for books, grabbed a free copy of one of my books, read one of my books, saw me on socials and thought, hey that person seems like my kind of weird and decided to click that join newsletter to find out more. Either way, if you're here it is because you wanted to join me in book rants, and if you don't want to anymore you are free to unsubscribe at any time, and also welcome to return at any time as well. I think that covers things... if I missed something feel free to email me. I am a human behind these strange goings ons, so welcome to the weird, the strange, the fantastical, and all the book love I can give.
