Any alien romance connoisseur has a large "to be read" bookshelf of their various types of book tropes.
Like a fine wine, these books sit in our e-readers or shelfs waiting for the time that we are in the right mood to choose this vintage, aged to perfection, or even a new flavor trope for the evening/weekend.
It's okay to have a large TBR, or to buy your next alien read even though you know you won't read it right away. There is a joy in knowing it's waiting for you in your wine cellar for when the mood is right.

But the thing about wine cellars is that it's out of sight, out of mind, so it's often that we are lured away from some of our stocked goodies for something new and shiny that catches our attention, and then it gets lovingly placed in a dark spot to keep it fresh, joining the rest of the pile.
That's why we have things like Goodreads, and StoryGraph, to help us keep inventory of our selections, but even that doesn't stop some awesome stories from becoming dusty and forgotten, despite them having just the right taste you're looking for this weekend.
I admit that I forget to add the tropes to expect in my TBR pile list on these sites for easier reference on which one would best match my mood.
How do we choose amongst our alien romance wine cellar? Which one will you drink from today, tomorrow?
I will admit I sometimes consume a whole bottle of alien romance in one day... staying up late into the wee hours of the night. Sometimes, after finishing up my own drafts, I take a week and just binge read, consuming several of some fine ass liquid alien dreams, getting drunk from the immersion. Then I share it with you guys!
