Hey ,
It's me again, your friendly neighborhood book weirdo, Stevie. For the love of all things fantasy and sci-fi adventure. There's a few awesome freebie adventures in this email! So, read on.
As some of you may already know, I narrate audiobooks for indie authors in the same genre as me! And one of my recent productions City of Light by Darren Deegan just released on Audible.
An orphan who seeks a family
A thief who strives for good
A warrior who dreams of peace
Young adult fantasy adventure based on the author's love of Celtic mythology. Ideal for listeners who love Taran Matharu, and Sarah J. Maas. The story follows a young woman, Selene, who, along with her band of thieves, collides with a mysterious immortal race. Together they work to subvert a plot that would see the kingdom enslaved.

Or reply back to this email with whether you'd like a US or UK Audible Code to listen to the newly released audiobook, narrated by me!
I'm open to feedback on how I can improve my narration, so if you have thoughts on the audiobook let me know whether you loved it or have constructive critique, I'm here for it!
I narrate for other indies to pay it forward so to speak, as being an audiobook narrator for hidden gem authors is not profitable a majority of the time.
Did you know that it takes 4-8 hours of work per finished 1 hour of audio?
So, an audiobook that is 9.5 hours like the City of Light took me 40 to 80 hours of work, so two weeks of full-time work (though that is spread out over a few months) and I usually do them on royalty share only. Meaning, I don't usually get paid for my time that I put into helping bring an audiobook to life.
It's a gamble that I make even 1 hour of my time back in royalties.
But, I do it for the love of the story, and I only take on books that I enjoy or look forward to reading.
I hope you enjoy my adaptation of City of Light, it was a very fun book to narrate for, and Darren is hard at work writing the next book!
If you want to listen to this book for freesies and help support Darren's fun fantasy adventure while also listening to me read then email me back with which code you'd like US or UK for Audible. First come first dished, but the last 5 codes that I have to give will be given out to those that also include what about the story they are excited about and made them email for a code.
Also, you may receive your code closer to the kiddos bedtime, or I might sneak some code sending on my phone while in the car. I wrote this in the morning, and just found out that the hubs deserves a victory dinner for finally pushing through the muck of temporary contract employment into a permanent contract employee! So proud of him, and we are going to take the kiddos around the time you are probably reading this to my son's favorite sit down, haha, Red Robin. I know... fancy, brow wiggle. He loves fries and sitting under the blue glass lights of the booth seats. My tinier human likes the steamed broccoli and coloring her menu, though she will probably steal the fries.
Side note rant on fries: Don't be fooled by the "bottomless" label, by the time you get another set of fries you're done with your meal and aren't interested in any more fries. It's all psychology. Plus, order the extra fries ahead of time. boom.
If I'm out of codes for this book, I will offer a free Spotify code to listen to Kingdom of Acatalec, so email quick, and even if it took you a day to get to it, still reply, because I'm reserving the last five codes for my favorite replies.
Happy listening!
"I really loved City of Light. It's a well written, fast paced fantasy novel full of action and intrigue. From the outset I felt engaged with the main characters and felt myself rooting for them as the story progressed. There are elements of Celtic mythology interwoven throughout the story which I found interesting as I'm Irish and have forgotten some of the stories I learned as a kid. I'm really looking forward to the next in the series as I feel like this is only the beginning of a great saga." Sarah on Goodreads
