Sky Robert's Alien Romance Newsletter! Three Books Moving to KOBO!

Hi , welcome back to my author newsletter with alien peens, monsters, magic, and the readers who love them!

Last week I sent an email with a bunch of 2025 accomplishments, an author journey overview, and things to look forward to in 2026 for alien romances and beyond.

To clarify about my Kobo endeavor, I still fully support Kobo, despite it being a flop in terms of monetary income for my books. I wish more readers were on it and using Kobo Plus over Kindle Unlimited. I LOVE that Kobo allows books to be in their subscription service without exclusivity to them, which is fully supportive of creatives like myself.

I, myself, have switched most of my reading over to Kobo. I always check there first before I search Amazon, I even canceled my KU subscription service. Both my TKManAteHer robot romance, and my alien romance Her Alien Starbreaker and Her Alien Exchange, are available in Kobo Plus. Check out my Kobo here:

For those readers still using KU, I do still have a majority of my books in KU. As that is where most of my read through still is. Though, I really hope that future readers and current ones can help smaller authors like us by switching to Kobo.

I truly believe that if most readers switch to a platform that supports creatives and doesn't require exclusivity that Amazon will choose to open KU to all books without requiring exclusivity to join.

Here are my books still currently in KU, and as the readthrough in KU declines, I will transition my catalogue over to Kobo Plus.

Last year in 2025 I made less than 20 in Kobo, which doesn't allow me to stay afloat as an author. Many indie authors must pay for hosting and domain fees, monthly expenses for maintaining a newsletter, subscription to Bookfunnel or Booksprout for reviews and reach. That doesn't include the cost of editing, book covers, or even our time to write and share our stories.

Writing isn't something a writer does for money, that's for sure. We do it because we have no choice, it's in our DNA to write and without it many feel lost. But we do have expenses, and a lofty dream of our passion allowing for us to eat a meal, drink some coffee and not feel ashamed that the only thing we feel "good" at doesn't cause trouble for our families that support us in the meantime.

So, yes, I will continue to have my books with Amazon because in the last 15 days of January alone, KDP Kindle Unlimited gave my books 13 thousand pages read, which is around 60 worth in royalties for half the month, which is 3 times the amount made in Kobo for the entire year done in 15 days.

I have seen that my first series Jewel of the Alien Bandit, Her Alien Prince, and Her Alien Insurgent, have declined in KU pages read to the point where KU pages and e-book downloads are 40/60, each of those books makes around $10 a month now, and only 40 percent is pages in KU. Meaning switching them to Kobo Plus would only decrease my monthly royalties by around 15 to 20, and most of you have already read those books.

That gives me a bit of hope that I can transition my first series over to Kobo Plus with little harm to my readership (It will still be available on Amazon, just not in KU) So, if you want to still read those books in KU, please borrow them now. I will still get pages read royalties from pages read on books borrowed, even if I remove my books from KU. As long as you grab the book in your KU before it's removed, it still counts and Amazon still honors the pages read for every reader who grabs the book and it's in their KU borrows already.

You can still read my other books in KU! Especially my newest release A Reverse Harem Alien Romance: Her Alien Delegate with tentacle peens, and spicy space adventures! https://books.steviemarie.com/aliendelegate

Let me know if you still read in KU or are using Kobo. I really want Amazon to start allowing authors to have their books in KU without exclusivity. I love my readers no matter where they read, but I also don't want to have my eggs all in one basket that allows one source to determine if I succeed as an author or not.

Let me know your thoughts on KU and Kobo. As always, I will continue to have my books available directly from my author store before official release dates, so no matter what kind of e-reader you have, you'll always be able to read my books!

And with the new transition of rotating books from KU to Kobo Plus when their read throughs decline, this allows me to have my books return to my author store for direct purchases to help support more books created by this simple alien obsessed human. The books will still be available on Amazon. And I will still release books in KU, but I will transition them out of KU as I continue to release more books. So my backlist of books will be widely available, and new releases will be in KU until their readthroughs decline.

Standalone plot with spice adventures of fated mates, space vampires, knotting, and bonds that will last beyond the stars!

Jewel of the Alien Bandit is about an outlaw who is earning his freedom and finally has the chance with the biggest score of a lifetime, only to find out the jewel he's there to steal isn't an object but a princess who is both ready to mate, and ready to protect her planet from an incoming invasion!

Her Alien Prince has a dangerous commander of a fleet of invading warriors desperate to save their planet by taking over another, only the prince has different plans to save his hive by mating a queen to join their species together, only the one he falls for isn't the future leader of Estreldez, but the future queen of his heart. Choosing between duty and love, but fighting for both, the krelins are a hive-mind species with wings, horns, and a telepathic mate bond!

Her Alien Insurgent is a standalone like the rest, but it is more enjoyable after having read at least one of the books before it like Jewel of the Alien Bandit and Her Alien Prince, which happen in parallel timelines to each other. It's about a spy warrior protecting his planet by keeping the krelins in check and preventing an invasion from those who stray from the treaty between their planets. He meets a lost human on the hunt for an outlaw only to discover they're after the same thing, and as unworthy as he feels for love, it blossoms in the heat of espionage.

If you have a thing for vampires like I do, then you'll love the necia warriors! SPACE VAMPIRES!

Check out Her Alien Savior and Her Alien Warrior, or read that free book you got for joining this newsletter Her Alien Exchange. All about hunky dangerous vampire warriors from space that have a kink for showing off their mates to their clan and battling for honor! They are the perfect grumpy cinnamon rolls because they strive for their mate's happiness but are the fiercest protectors and very possessive but in a way that proves they deserve and are honorable mates worthy of their bonds.

Have time for a shorter read? Check out TKManAteHer: a robot romance where a pleasure bot goes back in time to save the world by using his thruster on Amanda Fullerhound.

Thank you for being part of my author journey and supporting my human-made worlds. I look forward to sharing more out of this world stories of fated mates, fancy peens, and adventures that ignite joy and love in 2026!

All of my books are standalone alien romances, each a separate complete romance, read in any order, and with their interconnected plots, each book layers and you find out more about the world the more you read. Have questions from one book? Read another one, and you're sure to find more answers, and perhaps more questions as the universe unravels. That's what I love about sci-fi adventures set in the same universe, there's so much room to play!

Happy Reading and Thank you for being part of my author journey,
