Resend pricing 2026: is it free, and what does Pro cost?
Is Resend free? Yes. The free plan sends 3,000 emails a month, at most 100 a day, from up to 3 domains. Pro is $20 a month for 50,000 emails with no daily cap, Scale is $90 for 100,000, and if you turn on overages, emails past your plan cost $0.90 per 1,000.
On SendFox, transactional email is included on every plan: the Free plan covers 3,000 emails a month with no daily cap, paid plans start at $19 a month for 100,000 sends, and SendFox accepts Resend's API so you can switch without rewriting code.
Resend's free tier limits
- 3,000 emails a month. Every to, cc and bcc address is one email.
- 100 emails a day. This is the limit people hit first. A product launch or a busy signup day stops your welcome emails partway through.
- 3 sending domains. Pro raises that to 10.
- No overage. Free never bills you. Sends simply fail until the limit resets.
Resend's plans
| Plan | Price | Emails a month | Daily limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 3,000 | 100 |
| Pro | $20/mo | 50,000 | None |
| Scale | $90/mo | 100,000 | None |
| Larger tiers and Enterprise | Higher | More than 100,000 | None |
Monthly billing, read from resend.com/pricing on October 20, 2026. Paid plans can turn on overages at $0.90 per 1,000 past their included emails. Resend adjusts its higher tiers often; check its page for anything above 100,000.
Things that change the bill
- Recipients, not requests. One email to a customer with two people on cc is three emails.
- Overage. With overages turned on, past 50,000 on Pro you pay per 1,000. Fine when it's planned, painful when a retry loop sends the same receipt 40,000 times.

What SendFox costs as you grow
| Emails a month | SendFox |
|---|---|
| Up to 3,000 | Free |
| Up to 100,000 | $19/mo |
| More than 100,000 | See every plan |
Those sends are shared with your campaigns, so one plan covers your app's email and your newsletter. There's no overage: past your plan's cap, sends stop with a 429 until you upgrade, so a retry loop never turns into a bill.
Should you switch?
If you rely on Resend's scheduled sends or inline images, stay for now. If you're sending receipts, login codes, password resets and notifications, you'll pay less on SendFox for the same API. It takes two environment variables: here's the walkthrough. Comparing more tools? See the best Resend alternatives, or the SendFox email API page for the full feature list.
FAQ
Is Resend free?
Yes. Resend's free plan sends 3,000 emails a month, capped at 100 a day, on up to 3 domains, with no credit card. It is enough to build, test and run a small app. The daily cap is what usually pushes people to Pro ($20 a month).
What are the limits of Resend's free tier?
3,000 emails a month, 100 a day and 3 sending domains. Every to, cc and bcc address counts as one email. There is no overage on Free: once you hit a limit, sends fail until the day or month resets.
How much is Resend Pro?
Resend Pro is $20 a month for 50,000 emails, with no daily limit. Past that you pay $0.90 per 1,000 if you turn on overages in Resend's settings. If you don't, Resend emails you to upgrade.
How much does Resend cost at 100,000 emails a month?
Resend Scale is $90 a month for 100,000 emails, with the same optional $0.90 per 1,000 overage. Above that Resend sells larger tiers and Enterprise plans.
Does Resend count each recipient as one email?
Yes. Every to, cc and bcc address is one email against your quota. SendFox counts the same way, so the numbers compare directly.
What is a cheaper alternative to Resend?
SendFox includes transactional email on every plan. The Free plan covers 3,000 emails a month, paid plans start at $19 a month for 100,000 sends shared with your campaigns, and SendFox accepts Resend's API requests, so switching is a configuration change.
