What did you think of Her Alien Insurgent?

Her Alien Insurgent is one of my favorites, and yet it's stayed stagnant at 39 ratings on Amazon and 73 ratings on Goodreads for quite a few months in 2025. So, I'm dedicating this newsletter to telling you how awesome this book is.

My favorite book with my highest rating average of 4.73 is my least interacted with book in 2025. It's basically had under 20 new readers on Goodreads the whole year.

I guess this statistic might not make you jump at the chance to try the book out, but I think it's a hidden gem of the Trillume Universe.

So, in this newsletter I'm doing a:

Why You Should Read Her Alien Insurgent Call to Action!

1) Gaven is an awesome alien MMC that is mentioned as a side character in both Jewel of the Alien Bandit and Her Alien Prince! He's an estreld with radiation jewels all over his body!

2) Estreld males have a resin peen that forms to fit their mate! Moldable for her pleasure!

3) Ashley our FMC is a strong-willed woman who is both saved and does the saving of her fated mate! Plus, she's a side character from Her Alien Savior come back for her main character moment!

4) If you enjoy the krelin species and wanted to know more about them after reading Her Alien Prince, Gaven may be an estreld, and Ashley is a human, but both of them are having their adventure on the planet Krelis! Her Alien Insurgent is all about the krelins, their hive, their culture, and preventing a war between species!

5) The heat from an estreld's jewels on their body produce a radiation that acts like a mirage to camouflage and make Gaven essentially "disappear" from the senses of our favorite villains the krelins.

6) Her Alien Insurgent has a 4.73 average rating with 74 ratings on Goodreads, that means 92% of the readers LOVED the book to give it 4 or 5 stars, with more 5's than 4's.

7) If you caught the plot mention of Li-aq (a krelin) both mentioned in Her Alien Starbreaker when he was a youth, and in Her Alien Prince as a villain under the influences of the krelin queen, then you'll be happy to know he returns and even has two chapters just his own POV in Her Alien Insurgent where you get to see his transformation from villain to tragic underdog! This is a set up for his own Main Character moment in a future book Her Alien Nectar, alongside Gho-ran (Trent's half brother.)

8) Her Alien Insurgent sets up for another story in the Trillume Universe that I can't possibly write if the book doesn't get more reader love! The next book gets more Li-aq and more of our favorite prince from Her Alien Prince, Gho-ran, and a surprise FMC that you would probably be able to guess who if you read both Her Alien Insurgent and Her Alien Starbreaker!

Waking up from stasis was never going to be a fun experience when trying to stay under the radar. There would be no medic to ease the ache of my unused muscles, or sleeping through the sharp pain of blood flow returning to my raw skin after a prolonged period of being surrounded by preservation gelatin.

After months of stasis, the first layer of protective skin usually tore, taking layers of dermis with it straight down to muscle and broken blood vessels that were healed during a required anesthesia while a medical team pumped our bodies with nanomeds to heal before we woke.

If I were a more resilient species with scales like the trill or glands with super healing properties like the necia, perhaps stasis wouldn't involve such a painful recovery time without a medbay to assist. But I knew what I was signing up for when I took on a mission to find a notorious outlaw responsible for a universe-wide biothreat that was destroying worlds across the galaxy, including Earth's birthrates.

The pain was expected, but the noise flooding my mind wasn't. Who the f-ck was yelling in my ear? I couldn't even process what they were saying through the shouts and incessant clicking.

"Female..." Words were starting to translate through my implant but delayed and choppy, "hooman. Registered name, Riley Spearit."

That wasn't my f-cking name.

I might be disorientated, but I knew who I was or wasn't. That was the name of the girl I was supposed to follow so I could find the outlaw Al-Hez. Was she here with me? That would make sense to follow Riley into stasis somewhere. F-cking brain fog after stasis was worse than I imagined, and whatever had happened during that last twenty-four hours before being put in that pod, I didn't remember a thing. Short-term memory didn't survive this method of long-distance space travel.

My eyelids hurt too much to work through that stuck feeling like they were sealed closed with hardened gelatin, and my skin felt clammy.

"Restricted-ed-d." I heard the word echo in the room we were in and needed my translator to start working properly so I could assess the situation I was in. If it was malfunctioning, then I had to pray it didn't reach my keycodes for accessing my hacking programs and my A.I., Indi.

My throat felt like cotton as I made to speak to activate my programs since my arms weren't cooperating.

"Ind-d-di," I croaked, "ac-c-ti-vat-te."

"Ashley, there seems to be a disturbance in my ability to reach my memory stores. I'm afraid I will be unable to initiate any protocols without direct access. If you would connect me to a local server—"

Thank the stars he was still there, but I cut him off before he could start spiraling, "Not imp-port-t-tant. Ass-ssess systems and what's hap-ppening."

I can't wait to see more readers enjoy Her Alien Insurgent, because I really, really, want to write the next story with Li-aq and Gho-ran and the mystery FMC called Her Alien Nectar that isn't quite stand-alone enough to write without more people reading Her Alien Insurgent. As always, I will write the book as if no one has read anything prior, so it will still be a standalone, but like Her Alien Insurgent the book is much more enjoyable when you have the background from previous books like Her Alien Prince.

If anyone wanted to know what Gho-ran looks like then check out my author banner! He has less scales on his skin than Trent, because he's half human! (I know, some of you may consider that a spoiler, but it was never a secret that Gho-ran was half-human, and he's introduced as such from the very beginning.) This banner image will be used as the bookcover for Her Alien Nectar when I'm done writing it, but as I said before, Her Alien Insurgent needs more reader love before I spent more time on bringing the story to life.

Hi luvs,

I really want to see Her Alien Insurgent get up to 50 reviews on Amazon, and maybe 100 reviews on Goodreads by the end of 2025! So, I'm trying to brainstorm ways of bringing in more readers.
